Instructions for Using the Crash Severity Map

  1. Navigating the Map:
    • Use your mouse or touchscreen to pan and zoom in or out on the map.
    • Click on the Layer icon in the upper lefthand corner to toggle different layers of crash severity on and off.
  2. Understanding Map Layers:
    • Cyclist & Pedestrian Crashes: Crashes that involved at least one bike or pedestrian.
    • Fatal Crashes: Crashes resulting in at least one fatality.
    • Serious Injury Crashes: Crashes where at least one individual sustained severe injuries.
    • Other Crashes: This layer includes crashes classified as minor injury, possible injury, and property damage only. These are less severe incidents but still contribute to the overall safety analysis.

The crashes displayed on this map occurred between January 2019 and April 2024. This time frame allows for a comprehensive analysis of recent trends and patterns in roadway safety.
